what do you need to have ready for your web designer?

So you have decided you need a new website built – you are an expert at what you do, but really not sure how the whole web thing works. You will not be the first to find this a daunting task!  I have put together this short list to help point you in the right direction and help you ready yourself for working with your designer to make your new website a reality:
what do you need to have ready for your web designer

  • Logo (if available)
  • Do you have a preferred colour scheme or design criteria?
  • “About Us” profile for your business, tip: background, goals, mission statement, inspiration etc
  • Full list of products/services offered
  • Contact details to be displayed online
  • Write a few paragraphs “selling” your services—do you already have some sales material prepared that you can pass on to web designer?
  • Any images you already have that you want associated with your business

Another great way to help to communicate to your designer what you are looking for in your new website is to compile a list of websites that you find appealing (or alternatively NOT appealing!)

Having this information ready to go will help your designer fulfill your needs a lot quicker and get your business online!
